Connect It

The rainy season has started. And when it rains, it does not only poor, but the lights go out as well. At least, that is Murphy’s Law in Tanzania.

In a hospital the loss of electricity costs lives. Dialysis machines stop working, incubators stop working, our new X-ray machine, and lab equipment stop working, materials and instruments cannot be sterilized, and operations grind to a halt and have to be postponed.

From a concerned sponsor Simba Health has recently received the fantastic donation of a nearly new generator for the hospital, including transport from Holland to Sengerema. In fact, right on time, because the old generator has just died after 30 years of faithful service. However, because the new generator is so much bigger, high-capacity wiring and switches are necessary to connect it to the hospital grid. The installation costs are unexpectedly high at nearly 10 000 euro.

Hence our new CONNECT IT project. It would be great if you could help us to get the new generator up and running as soon as possible and so help us save lives in Sengerema Hospital. Please feel free to make a donation to Simba Health at Stichting Simba

Thanks a million, eh, ten thousand 😊
