From Gelre to Sengerema

Over the past two weeks, our team from Gelre Hospitals had the opportunity to provide medical support at Sengerema District Hospital in Tanzania. Together with surgical assistants Lisa Stoverinck, Karlijn Verhoeven-Wissink, and Mireille Bullens van Stekelenburg, we primarily treated fresh and neglected fractures, leg deformities, and (burn) wounds.

We met wonderful people and were able to make a difference. This experience also made us deeply appreciate the resources and possibilities we have back home in the Netherlands. In particular, the high level of expertise of our healthcare professionals plays a key role in making our system so effective and efficient.
