12 times Susan and Edwin

I don't really know if it has been 12 times, maybe even more (lemson.reislogger.nl). But they have been coming to Sengerema Hospital since 2012. Susan Lemson is a vascular surgeon at the Slingerland Hospital in Doetinchem and a board member of Simba Health. Ed Wendker and she take vacation days almost every year to help out here. Susan in the operating room and Ed with all kinds of jobs in and around the hospital. And when things are quiet for a moment, you can see him wandering around with a huge lens looking for all kinds of strange birds, including the feathered kind.

Susan has dealt with very complex cases, such as major abdominal surgeries and complex revisions of amputations. Furthermore, she is involved in the organizational development of the hospital's surgical department. That is also a challenge. In addition, she taught a Sengerema doctor how to insert a shunt in dialysis patients. Something that is done in fewer than five other hospitals in Tanzania. Hats off to Susan.
